What are you struggles when it comes to recruitment?

Posted on 22 September, 2023 by Jobnet Africa

Are you a hiring manager that has hired candidates with 10-15 years of experience, who brought their family out to Africa? I am sure schooling fees were a topic. This level of managers is sought after a lot and is your typical General- or Country Manager. The thing is, they often have younger children. How do you or does your company deal with that?

International schooling can be expensive and can range from USD 1.000 per month a child up to USD 30.000 per child a year. It is very possible the candidate will not be able to pay for these fees themselves.

Which means you, as an employer, will have to chip in.

There are a few options you can look in to:

  1. Pay for all schooling fees, for all children
  2. Pay partially, maybe a fixed amount per child
  3. Pay for schooling, but only for an x number of children
  4. You do not contribute, candidates either pay for themselves, use local schools (for some African countries that is fine), or home-school

Do you want to know more about what you can offer your candidate that has school going children?
