For one of our clients, an active player in the supply chain of technical goods in Africa, we are seeking a General Procurement Manager.
The Group has a presence in 8 countries of which 6 are in sub-Saharan Africa. The Technical Business Unit is part of a larger Group and is managed by the subsidiary based in Cape Town, South Africa. This is a hands-on leadership role combining commercial strategy, operational execution, and team management.

Key Responsibilities
Commercial Management & Business Development
- Manage and strengthen existing client relationships
- Identify and target new markets, clients, and opportunities
- Develop client-specific proposals within the technical segment
- Drive new business growth within the procurement category
Operations
- Implement and maintain procurement policies, procedures, and best practices
- Oversee preparation of commercial and technical proposals
- Ensure accurate interpretation of client requirements and specifications
- Manage order processing and expediting to ensure timely delivery
Performance & Team Management
- Lead and manage a team of buyers
- Monitor productivity, efficiency, and quality of work
- Conduct regular performance analysis and strategic reviews
- Develop team capabilities and support professional growth
- External: International clients, local and global suppliers
Requirements
- Minimum 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, or related fields
- Proven leadership and team management experience
- Strong commercial and business acumen
- Excellent negotiation and relationship-building skills
- Strong organizational and project management capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Languages:
- English (required)
- French and/or Portuguese (advantageous)
