For one of our clients, a rapidly growing agribusiness in Madagascar, we are seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead their vegetable processing facility. The company operates an integrated value chain, from farming to processing, and produces high-quality canned vegetables for export markets.
Role Overview
The Plant Manager will take full operational ownership of the production site, overseeing production, maintenance, supply chain, logistics, quality, and certification.
This role requires a hands-on, decisive leader with strong organizational and people management skills, someone capable of professionalizing operations while supporting ambitious scaling plans.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and optimize all factory operations: production, maintenance, logistics, and procurement.
- Develop and implement processes to support rapid scale-up and international certification (HACCP, ISO, etc.).
- Manage and motivate a multicultural team with a focus on performance, accountability, and discipline.
- Monitor KPIs, production efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Plan inventory, raw materials, and maintenance schedules to prevent bottlenecks.
- Ensure compliance with safety, food quality, and environmental standards.
Candidate Profile
- Proven experience as Plant Manager, Operations Manager, or General Manager in food processing or manufacturing.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Excellent planning, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
- Previous experience in Africa or emerging markets strongly preferred.
- Fluent in French (essential) and English (required).
- Comfortable living in a remote area.
