For one of our clients, committed to sustainable practices, and significant commercial objectives in West Africa, we are seeking a Country Manager.

Our client has been a significant player in the regional shea industry with ambitions to scale. The Country Manager will oversee our client’s operations in Ghana. You will lead a team, manage logistics, sourcing, and operations, and drive strategic initiatives to strengthen supply chain resilience and business growth.

You will be responsible for overseeing sourcing programs, including direct partnerships with 200.000 rural women, and ensuring operational efficiency across multiple locations. You will have 215 colleagues in the organization helping you reach the target, of which 6 are in your direct leadership team.

You will report directly to the regional head of West Africa based in Benin and be part of the regional leadership team

Key Responsibilities

• P&L ownership and strategic leadership of the Ghana organization.
• Ensure security of supply through direct sourcing and trading partnerships.
• Optimize sourcing strategies and expand operations to new opportunities.
• Develop leadership capabilities within the team and drive a strong people agenda.
• Strengthen stakeholder relationships with suppliers, communities, and regulatory bodies.
• Embed sustainability initiatives into sourcing and operations.
• Maintain compliance with local regulations, tax laws, and risk management frameworks.

Key Requirements

• Proven leadership experience in logistics and sourcing within Africa.
• Strong commercial acumen, negotiation skills, and strategic thinking.
• Experience managing direct sourcing programs and working with or in rural areas.
• Fluency in English is essential; French is an advantage.
• Strong people leadership skills with a focus on mentorship and talent development.
• Hands-on, resilient, and adaptable mindset in a dynamic environment.
