Key Role and Responsibilities:
  • Leadership: Supervises, motivates and mentors other technical engineers where needed and training of the junior engineers
  • Safety and Environment: Implements and maintains the Region’s HSE Plan for the processes under his responsibility. Ensure that Construction activities comply with health and safety regulations. Implement and monitor safety measurements on site
  • Time Performance: Control monitor, execution and reporting on projects on time. Timely preparation of documents, presentation or submission placed under his/her responsibility
  • Quality: Implements and maintains the Region’s Quality Management Plan for the processes under his responsibility. Ensure that all projects are completed within the Quality standards requirements
  • Customer: Coordinating and maintaining communication on project specific affairs with customers and consultants
  • Subcontractors/Suppliers: Responsibility for subcontractor engagement and assessment in the absence of the Regional Technical Office Engineer.
  • Design: Responsible for review of design and engineering documents

Other Tasks:
  • Overseeing the planning and execution of projects
  • Preparation of bid documents ensuring regulatory compliance requirements
  • Input into the development of project plans and schedules.
  • Preparation and review of all technical documents, including specifications and project manuals
  • Ensure compliance with construction regulations, codes, and standards.
  • From time-to-time act as a liaison between the project team, clients, and regulatory authorities
  • Identify any risk related to projects
  • Responsible for maintaining accurate records of all projects including updating of any changes made during construction
  • From time to time supports acts as technical resource for the preparation of prequalification or bid documents
  • Collects, examines, and prepares all technical reports from the Region for approval by the RCN Management
  • Any other tasks assigned by the line manager

Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or any related field.
  • At least 3 years experience occupying a similar position
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, RIB I TWO, and software such as CAD and other industry relevant programs
  • Strong Project Management abilities and familiarity with project management tools and lifecycle
  • Proficiency in Quality Management
  • Understanding of Contract Management
  • Knowledge of Engineering Design
  • Ability to interpret and understand construction drawings
  • Proficiency in Risk Management
  • Proficiency in HSE Standards and policy
