The Carmeuse Group's headquarters is in Belgium and has approximately 5,300 employees, serving over 13,000 customers annually through a global network of 90 plants and 60 limestone quarries. Carmeuse Group can be split into 3 divisions: Americas, EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Asia), and Trading. The Trading division focuses on production in Africa, as well as lime trading in Africa and Asia. This division also ventures into the trading of mining reagents.

Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and adventurous Procurement Manager with a background in chemical products to join our client’s dynamic and inclusive team. You will travel the globe, manage supplier relationships, and secure the best deals while fostering opportunities in the market and ensuring a secure supply chain.

Key Responsibilities:

Procurement Strategy:
Develop and implement procurement strategies for various chemical products, ensuring a strong and diverse supply chain.

Supplier Relationships:
Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, negotiating favorable terms on pricing, payment conditions, and stockholding.

Market Analysis:
Monitor and analyze market trends to identify opportunities for the sales team and anticipate potential disruptions.

Supplier Diversification:
Identify and develop alternative suppliers to reduce reliance on a single source and ensure continuity of supply.

Administrative Management:
Handle procurement-related administrative tasks, including requesting prices from suppliers and preparing detailed reports.

Global Travel:
Embrace your sense of adventure as you travel to suppliers in Asia, Europe, Africa, and India to ensure product quality and secure optimal deals.

Supply Chain Security:
Proactively address potential supply disruptions by sourcing alternative suppliers and products.

Reporting:
Regularly report on procurement activities, supplier performance, market trends, and cost savings.

Requirements:
  • Proven experience in procurement, preferably within chemical products.
  • Excellent negotiation skills with a calm and deliberate approach to decision-making.
  • Strong understanding of market trends and the ability to respond to price fluctuations and supply chain risks.
  • Persuasiveness and optimism to foster successful supplier negotiations and collaborations.
  • Self-discipline to manage multiple responsibilities effectively.
  • Ability to travel globally as required.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Nice to have - Experience in commodity trading or a related field.
  • Nice to have - Knowledge of global market dynamics affecting chemical products.
