After living and working in South Africa and Malawi, I experienced firsthand how difficult it can be to find international career opportunities in Africa, and even harder to reach the decision-makers behind them. At the same time, I saw many employers across the continent struggling to find the right people, with the right skills and mindset, to help their businesses grow.

That gap between talent and opportunity inspired me to start JobnetAfrica.

Since 2011, I’ve dedicated my professional life to turning that vision into reality; helping employers in Africa connect with exceptional candidates from Africa and around the world. Together with a passionate team of Africa enthusiasts, we support companies in building strong teams and sustainable growth.

For me, it’s never been just about recruitment. It’s about creating a ripple effect: every successful match strengthens a business, creates jobs, fuels innovation, and contributes to the growth of African economies. Originally from Durban, KwaZulu-Natal, my journey has taken me from England and New Zealand to Johannesburg before settling in the vibrant city of Cape Town.

With a background spanning marketing, branding, production, project management, and sales, I’ve developed into a versatile professional who thrives on learning, adapting, and bringing fresh ideas to the table.

At JobnetAfrica, my role as Business Development Specialist centers on connecting talent with opportunity and delivering recruitment success across Africa and beyond. I’m passionate about helping organizations find the right people to drive meaningful growth and long-term impact. My experience extends across diverse industries, including Agriculture, Renewable Energy, Construction, Banking, Finance, Fintech, Insurance, FMCG, IT, Engineering, and Commodities.

Having spent numerous years studying and working in The Netherlands, I eventually embarked on a journey to explore the vibrant and dynamic world. This adventure led me to South Africa. Little did I know that this trip would be a pivotal moment in my life.

My association with JobnetAfrica as a Sr Executive Recruiter marks a significant chapter in my career. I’ve embraced the challenge of comprehensively understanding our clients’ needs and delving into the essence of their company cultures.

My career began in France, and my curiosity and love for travel soon took me around the world, to the United Kingdom, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, Portugal and now South Africa. Each move brought new lessons and experiences, shaping both my professional skills and my appreciation for diverse cultures.

My previous experience spans the hospitality, aviation, and online gambling industries, where I learned to adapt quickly, innovate, and understand people in dynamic environments. These chapters gave me a global perspective that I now bring into executive recruitment.

After falling in love with Cape Town in 2020, I knew South Africa would one day become home.

Today, I am proud to join JobnetAfrica as an Executive Recruiter. I love contributing to a company that is making a real impact on career opportunities across the continent. After having traveled extensively across Africa, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for the continent’s diversity and complexity. With over 20 years of international business experience, including conference interpreting in German, Italian, English, French, and Portuguese, I’ve helped companies open new markets and build sustainable connections across Africa.

I joined JobnetAfrica nine years ago and immediately recognized its potential: connecting passionate professionals with companies looking to establish or grow in Africa. As the now longest-serving team member and a Senior Executive Recruiter by learning and doing, I work from Senegal, giving me close insight into West African markets, cultures, and everyday realities.

As a language expert who has lived in Sub-Saharan Africa, including two and a half years in The Gambia, I love communicating with people around the world, trying to understand their needs, and bringing them together. For me, human factors and interpersonal relations are of the utmost importance and do make a difference when it comes to helping job seekers and companies reach their goals.

About 20 years ago I decided to move to Johannesburg for a year. One year became many years and after moving around the African continent for a while, I have now settled down in Franschhoek, South Africa.

I have been part of JobnetAfrica since 2016 and have never looked back ever since. I’m wearing different caps within the company. Amongst other things, I’m involved in the finance and research, so sourcing the right candidates for the right roles.

Because of my versatility and my extensive experience living in Africa as a foreigner, I’m originally from the Netherlands, I believe I have a good understanding of what is asked of candidates and companies doing business in Africa.

Born and raised in Cape Town, South Africa, I’ve always been drawn to exploring new places, cultures, and ideas. After completing my studies and gaining experience in education, I found my way into marketing and haven’t looked back since.

I’m now part of the JobnetAfrica team as a Growth Marketing & Campaign Specialist, where I lead multi-channel campaigns, manage social media, and drive digital marketing initiatives that support recruitment and brand growth across Africa. My work spans campaign strategy and execution, SEO, content marketing, and increasingly, paid media, an area I’ve been actively developing alongside my broader skill set in the Google tech stack.

Born and raised in the beautiful province of Mpumalanga, South Africa, I’m proud to call Swati my home language. With a background in law and a career spanning business development, sales, and recruitment technology, I’ve always been drawn to work that combines strategic thinking, operational excellence, and meaningful connections.

As Business Growth Operations Specialist at JobnetAfrica, I work at the intersection of Business Development, Delivery, and Operations to support sustainable business growth. My role focuses on analysing and optimising our lead generation and business development processes, identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, and implementing automation that enables scalable growth. By transforming data into actionable insights, I help ensure our teams can make informed decisions and focus their efforts where they create the greatest impact.

I also manage and continuously refine communication workflows for our Business Development team, designing structured engagement processes that improve consistency and the client experience across multiple channels. I collaborate closely with colleagues across Business Development, Delivery, Marketing, and Operations to align initiatives, improve efficiency, and support the successful execution of our growth strategy.

I enjoy bringing structure to complexity and creating systems that enable people to do their best work.
